The Wrens continue to tease new album; Charles Bissell playing PS154 benefit in Brooklyn w/ Palomar & more

Wrens

We keep getting more and more hints that The Wrens‘ long-awaited followup to 2003’s The Meadowlands is coming. Last year they said it was complete, more recently they signed a record deal, and then posted the above picture which is, apparently, a CD-R with the final recordings of the album. They also recently posted another clip of new music which is not making the cut of the new album. You can listen to that below.

Like last year, a portion of The Wrens will be playing a benefit for Windsor Terrace‘s PS154 in Brooklyn this June. This time it’s just Charles Bissell solo (last year was a duo set with Kevin Whelan), and Palomar, The Big Bright and White Collar Crime all play once again. Joining the lineup this year is Emmanuel May Pazavekmi, and it happens June 19 at Union Hall. Tickets are on sale now.
