UK band Outfit releasing 'Slowness' in June (stream & video)

UK band Outfit are back with a new album, Slowness, out June 16 via Memphis Industries. The record was made while members of the band were spread across two countries and three cities. It’s less overtly dancey than 2013’s Performance (one of my favorites of that year), and has a more spacious, atmospheric approach. (There’s more than a little Talk Talk in this one.) We’ve got the premiere of “On The Water On The Way,” which was inspired, lyrically, by frontman Andrew P Hunt’s time in America (he currently lives in NYC). He tells us, “The song is about putting on a front to save face. Pretending not to care, or that everything is fine. Smiling through the storm.” Listen to “On The Water On The Way,” and two other songs from Slowness, below.

Outfit have yet to play live in North America. Perhaps Hunt can coax the rest of the band to visit NYC this year. Check out Slowness‘ artwork and tracklist, along with song streams and a video, below…
