Albert Hammond Jr. announces 'Momentary Masters' and North American tour (new song stream, dates)

Albert Hammond Jr is back with his third solo album, Momentary Masters, which will be out July 31 via Vagrant. Here’s what the Strokes guitarist says about it:

I feel like the best songs I’ve written, as soon as I was done, I was like, “Oh my God, I did it!’ But in that split second that it comes, that feeling goes. It’s the same thing when you find complete happiness, you find this complete low. I feel like that’s what being creative is: It’s you bouncing with emotion and what you capture in those bounces. Accept where you are and use it.

The first single is “Born Slippy” which, somehow, is not an Underworld cover. (I’m not sure whether I’m relieved or disappointed that it’s not.) You can stream it below.

Apart from an appearance at Spain’s Primavera Sound Festival this month, AHJ will be laying low till the fall when he and his band will be touring, including NYC at Bowery Ballroom on September 21. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (5/15) at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (5/13) at noon.
