You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Julianna Barwick, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, DJ Allen Blickle (Alpaca), Andy Boay (Tonstartssbandht), Cults, POP ETC (acoustic), Marnie Stern & The Figs (w/ members of Les Savy Fav & Girls Against Boys), Surfer Blood, We Are Scientists @ Bowery Ballroom (Thomas Fekete benefit)
Surfer Blood guitarist Thomas Fekete is sadly battling cancer, and tonight a bunch of his talented friends are coming together to raise money to help with his medical bills. This is one pretty amazing bill, and for a great cause.

Laibach @ Gramercy Theatre
Slovenian industrial vets Laibach went back to work last year, releasing Spectre, their first album in eight years. It was also one of their more accessible albums, mixing pop and Euro-dance with their extreme sound…and Milan Fras’ distinct vocal style. Their live show, which leans on theatricality, is usually pretty cool.

Jessica Pratt, Jaye Bartell @ Union Pool
If you’re looking for modern artists keeping alive late ’60s / early ’70s psychedelic folk, few do it better than Jessica Pratt. Tonight’s show is sold out. She also returns to NYC for a show with Ryley Walker in June.

Sam Prekop, Mountains @ Trans-Pecos
The Sea & Cake frontman Sam Prekop recently released a new solo album of modular synth compositions, and he’s currently on tour in support of it with his Sea & Cake bandmate Archer Prewitt. They’ll be “playing as a duo, performing improvised synth/guitar duets followed by a short set of classic Sea and Cake tracks.” Sam’s droney Thrill Jockey labelmates Mountains open. This show was moved to Trans-Pecos from The Wick.

The Gooch Palms, Las Rosas, Death Valley Girls, Larry & the Babes, Surfbort @ Silent Barn
This bill is loaded with a lot of great garage rock, from the party duo The Gooch Palms, to the psych-leaning Death Valley Girls, to NYC’s sunshiney Las Rosas, and more.

East India Youth, Glass Gang @ Rough Trade
East India Youth makes electronic pop full of ambient atmospheres, and recently released his second album Volume on XL. Tonight’s show was moved to Rough Trade from Bowery Ballroom.

Les Big Byrd, BNLX @ Cake Shop
Featuring members of The Cezars and Teddybears, Sweden’s Les Big Byrd make killer motorik, shoegazy psych. This is their second NYC show of the week (and also ever) and they share the bill with Minneapolis’ fun noisepop band BNLX.

A conversation with George Clinton @ Brooklyn Museum (RBMA)
The Red Bull Music Academy NYC residency continues tonight with a conversation with funk/soul legend George Clinton of Parliament-Funkadelic.

Crosby, Stills & Nash @ State Theatre
Folk rock as we know it wouldn’t be the same without Crosby, Stills & Nash, who continue to inspire new groups and whose classic material still sounds timeless. They play two Brooklyn shows later this week, but tonight they’re nearby in New Brunswick.

Saxon, Armored Saint @ BB King’s
Saxon were among the early wave of NWOBHM bands, influencing tons of bands (like Metallica), and releasing at least a few classic albums that still live up today.

Say Lou Lou, Okay Kaya @ Mercury Lounge
Swedish/Australian sisterly duo — Miranda Anna and Elektra June Kilbey-Jansson, both models and daughters of The Church’s Steve Kilbey — make slick, Euro-style dancepop that sometimes (like on the Lindstrom-produced “Games for Girls”) is pretty fun.

La-Bas @ Baby’s All Right
La-Bas are something of an indie supergroup, with members of Shudder To Think and My Midnight Heart, and they have contributions from members of The War on Drugs, Fruit Bats, the David Byrne & St. Vincent band and more on their just-released debut album. Tonight’s the release party for that album and their first-ever live performance.

Yelawolf, Hillbilly Casino, DJ Klever @ Brooklyn Bowl
Yelawolf is pretty hit (like his “1 Train” verse) or miss (like his Kid Rock collaboration), but when it’s the former he’s got some fun moments.
