Exploding In Sound throwing 5-day celebration in Brooklyn and Boston (but first a Northside showcase)

Brooklyn/Boston indie rock label Exploding In Sound Records is throwing a five-day, six-show celebration this August in their two hometowns, dubbed the “Thank You For Being A Friend” Extended Weekend. The lineups are still TBA, but as anyone who’s seen an Exploding In Sound showcase knows, a huge majority of the roster and some surprise guests are always known to show up. The label’s currently got Pile, Krill, Big Ups, Kal Marks, Two Inch Astronaut, Leapling, LVL UP, Palehound and more, and who knows, maybe alumni like Speedy Ortiz or Porches will be there too. The schedule of shows looks like this:

8/20 @ Baby’s All Right (Brooklyn)
8/21 @ Palisades (Brooklyn)
8/22 @ The Sinclair (Boston)
8/23 @ O’Brien’s (matinee show) (Boston)
8/23 @ Great Scott (Boston)
8/24 @ Silent Barn (Brooklyn)

Before that, EIS is throwing a Northside Festival showcase this Friday (6/12) at Aviv with Ipsum and Gimme Tinnitus, which features Sleepies, Clean Girls, Vulture Shit, Mannequin Pussy, Wildhoney, Kindling, Kal Marks, Palm, Washer, Nonsense, and DONE. Tickets are on sale.
