Gaytheist & Rabbits releasing split album, 'GAY*BITS' (stream a track)

Gaybits

Readers of this site may be familiar with noise rockers Rabbits, who are releasing a split with a band we haven’t written about yet, Gaytheist. Since you might be wondering about that band name here’s what singer Jason Rivera told The Stranger:

I’m a gay athiest. The second or third time we came up to Seattle, we had made friends with Monogamy Party, and [their drummer] Keith was like, ‘I know a couple people who are pissed about your name because you guys are called Gaytheist, but none of you are gay.’ [My bandmates] Nick and Tim start laughing and said, ‘Jason’s as gay as it comes!’

The LP features new original songs by both bands, covers of each other, collaborations, and more. One of the tracks, “I Quit,” is a Gaytheist song from their album Rainbows Have Nothing to Hide that they re-recorded for this split with Josh from Rabbits on vocals. A stream of that premieres below.

The split is called GAY*BITS and will be out August 21 via Good to Die Records (pre-order). Full tracklist, song stream, and tour dates for both bands (none in NYC), below…
