Ryan Adams made a rockist diss at Deadmau5 at Governors Ball but then said he was kidding; Natalie Prass expands tour

Ryan Adams co-headlined the Saturday Governors Ball, a couple hours after Bjork, going simultaneously with EDM giant Deadmau5. Deadmau5’s bass bled over into Ryan’s set, and perhaps you’ve heard that he responded by saying this over the mic: “Try to make this song on your fucking iPhone. This song is not going to match the robot music over there… It’s like we’re living in a fucking Terminator nightmare!”

Deadmau5 responded later that night via Twitter, saying, “I guess Ryan Adams wasn’t feeling it. No biggie. Sorry for bass? Whatever. Nice seeing you again too. *shrug* back to my iPod.” But Ryan has since clarified he was lol jk, tweeting, “Hey @deadmau5 No disrespect meant. My humor is 100% sarcasm (as you know). Peace & Love. Build that dream machine!”

Maybe there’s still hope for the Ryan Adams / Deadmau5 collaboration after all. Pictures, videos and setlist of Ryan’s GovBall set are below.

A couple weekends earlier, Ryan was at a different festival, Sasquatch, performing with Natalie Prass (who he’s rumored to be dating) during her set. The two had been on tour together not long before that and had been collaborating. That’s them at Sasquatch together pictured above. Natalie has many more tour dates coming up including two NYC shows. There’s her rescheduled Bowery Ballroom show for July 13 with Wilder Maker, and a new a show added for November 10 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets for MHOW go AmEx presale today (6/10) at noon, and on sale to the general public Friday (6/12) at noon. Tickets for Bowery (same link) are still available.

Updated Natalie Prass dates are listed, with pics of Ryan Adams at GovBall, below…
