Sydney, Australia’s Sleepy share a member with Yes I’m Leaving, but while that band make ripping punk, Sleepy favor more sugary sounds. It’s still driving though — Sleepy recall any number of the bands who brought the sounds of power pop into harder-edged alternative rock. If you dig anything from Teenage Fanclub to Weezer to Jimmy Eat World, you’ll probably find something to like here. The band recently released “The Ride Up” off their upcoming debut EP, and we’ve got the premiere of a second track, “Hardest Part.” Both are very catchy, as you can hear for yourself below.
