You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Talib Kweli, Rapsody, NIKO IS, K Valentine @ Brooklyn Bowl
NYC hip hop vet Talib Kweli continues to release music and perform consistently. Tonight’s his second of three hometown shows this week. Tonight he plays full-band at Brooklyn Bowl, and on Friday he’ll be at the International African Arts Festival in Commodore Barry Park.

Ceremony, Pity Sex, Tony Molina, Wildhoney @ Shea Stadium
Ceremony have experimented with a lot of different styles since their powerviolence roots, and their newest album has them sounding more than a little like Joy Division. It’s a good bill all around tonight, with shoegaze from Pity Sex and Wildhoney, and Weezer/Thin Lizzy worship from Tony Molina.

Bing & Ruth, Circuit Des Yeux @ Subculture
Circuit des Yeux (aka Haley Fohr) recently released her new album, In Plain Speech, which is her first for Thrill Jockey and first with a full band. The band is also on tour with her, and tonight’s her first of two NYC shows. Headlining is local ambient group Bing & Ruth, whose last release was 2014’s Tomorrow Was the Golden Age on RVNG Intl.

King Sunny Ade @ MetroTech Commons
Part of the BAM R&B Fest, today’s noontime show features Nigerian music legend King Sunny Ade, still a positive force at age 68.

Elena Ayodele Pinderhughes @ MoMA
This is the kickoff for the 2015 MoMA Nights series, tonight featuring flutist/vocalist Elena Ayodele Pinderhughes. Her performance is in conjunction with the museum’s One-Way Ticket: Jacob Lawrence Migration Series and Other Visions of the Great Movement North exhibition. This is free with museum admission.

Blind Idiot God, BBIGPIGG, Cellular Chaos, Clean Girls @ Paper Box
Experimental instrumental rock vets Blind Idiot put out releases on SST, Bill Laswell’s label and John Zorn’s label back in the late ’80s and early ’90s (all produced by Laswell except for one by Martin Bisi), and earlier this year they finally put out their first album in 23 years. It has them in fine form, as tonight’s show likely will too.

Slaughter and the Dogs, The Baby Shakes, 45 Adapters, Weird Womb @ The Grand Victory
’70s era British punks Slaughter & the Dogs have been kicking again since the ’90s and play tonight with Brooklyn’s Oi-influenced 45 Adapters.

Running Late w/ Scott Rogowski @ Le Poisson Rouge
It’s the season finale of Rogowski’s live talk show, with a pretty great lineup: Jon Hamm, Jon Benjamin, Tom Papa and actor Craig Bierko.
