Earlier this year, San Francisco’s Wild Moth released a split with their SF neighbors Creative Adult, and now they’re set to release a new full-length, Inhibitor, on August 28 via Iron Pier (pre-order). It was recorded by Jack Shirley (who’s worked with Deafheaven, Joyce Manor and others) and follows their 2013 debut LP on Asian Man, Over, Again. It features the previously-released single “Mirror” that they put out as a 7″ flexi on their April tour with Whirr, and the brand new single “Buried” which premieres in this post.

As you may expect from a band who’s toured with Whirr and released a split with Creative Adult, Wild Moth pull from a variety of ’90s influences, specifically the decade’s punk, shoegaze and alternative rock. Even if you watched the “Mirror” video on mute, you could probably get an idea of how they sound. Both guitarists play Jazzmasters and the camera focuses in as they make use of those whammy bars, the long-haired singer looks bored and over it, and the band is covered in drippy psychedelic visuals. Check both songs out below.

Wild Moth are also set to tour in November, and while the whole thing hasn’t been announced yet, we know they’ll play NYC on November 14 at the Acheron with The Men and PC Worship. That’s a really good lineup all around. Tickets go on sale Friday (7/10) at noon.

You can see The Men in NYC way sooner though. They play Silent Barn on Saturday (7/11) with Honey, Junk Boys and Red Dawn ii. That’s $8 at the door.

PC Worship also open one of Panda Bear‘s NYC shows in October (tickets), and knowing them, they’ll probably find about 15 ways to play NYC before then too.
