Cold Beat share "Spirals" from new album, playing four NYC shows in September (one free)

Cold Beat Into the Air LP

Cold Beat (featuring Grass Widow’s Hannah Lew) have shared a second song from their killer second album, Into the Air, which is out next month via singer Lew’s Crime on the Moon label. If when you hear the name “cold beat” you imagine some aloof French/German band playing synthesizers on 1981 foreign television, “Spirals” is as close to that as they’ve come, all sub-zero synths and minimal drum machine backing, with Lew’s gossamer vocals overtop. (The record also has plenty of guitars, too, just not too much on this song.) Stream that, and great first single “Cracks” below.

Having visited last at the end of May, Cold Beat will be visiting NYC again next month, playing four shows: September 18 at Union Pool, September 19 at Shea Stadium, a free in-store at Other Music on September 20 (7 PM), followed by a show later that same night at Silent Barn. Lineups and ticket info on those shows are still TBA.
