“If the Vitus show was the last time I saw Neurosis, I would be fine. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to.” – Jay

“Saw Neurosis and Sumac last night at Vitus. May have been the best metal show I have ever seen. Unbelievable rhythm sections on display.” – Jeff Laughlin

“Neurosis at Saint Vitus Bar was one for the history books. They were absolutely incredible. Seeing them in a room that small was an extremely powerful experience” – Dave The Merciless

Neurosis

Following Neurosisepic show at Warsaw, they played an obviously-even-more-epic show at another Greenpoint venue, the much smaller Saint Vitus, last night (8/10). While the Warsaw show ended with the insanely heavy “Through Silver in Blood,” they opened with that one at Vitus and then went right into another crusher, “The Doorway.” Scott Kelly busted his head on his mic during the set and continued to play with blood dripping on his forehead. (If that’s not metal as fuck, what is?) Needless to say, this was (to quote Dave The Merciless above), one for the history books.

Sumac, the current band of former Isis frontman Aaron Turner, opened like they did at Warsaw. (Though Tad Doyle’s new band Brothers of the Sonic Cloth sat this one out.) More pictures and the setlist from Saint Vitus and a full-set video from Warsaw (by unARTig) below…
