Stevie Wonder

The legendary Stevie Wonder, aka DJ Tick Tick Boom, brought his Songs in the Key of Life tour to the Prudential Center last night (10/14) for his first of two NYC-area shows on this run. He had about 30 members up on stage, including horns, backing vocalists, percussionists, drummers, keyboard players, guitars, bass, strings and more. Ed Sheeran, who was first given a tour of the NJ Devils locker room and some or their swag, provided guest vocals on three songs (Chris Rock was apparently in the audience, possibly in his own custom Devils jersey). They didn’t play Songs in the Key of Life front to back but they did play all or most of it, and unlike other recent shows, there was no encore (though the show did start about a half hour late). The tour hits NYC proper on November 24 at MSG. Tickets for that show are still available.
