Benjamin Schoos offers 'Night Music, Love Songs' on new album (listen to sultry first single "I Love You")

Benjamin Schoos will release his new album Night Music, Love Songs on January 29 via his own Freaksville label. As the title suggests, the new record is an ode to the wee hours, which is when the Belgian-born Francophone wrote and recorded the album. He elaborates:
Both night and women are the muses of this collection of songs. Nothing would please me more than people listening to my new record while driving down a dark road around 2am. My previous album, Beau Futur, dreamed about three-dimensional pop and constantly broke the tempo within the record. It is a fact, I enjoy playing with the codes and references of pop music and poetry (from Arthur Rimbaud to Arthur Cravan) but this one is definitely is an “anti-reference record.” It reflects my moods and emotions at that time, that was 100% my priority. I’m very proud of it. My songwriting and I have grown in this adventure.
Lush synths, piano, and minimal percussion are on the palette for this mood-setting album. The first single and opening track from Night Music, Love Songs is “I Love You,” a very French slow jam, complete with a slinky guitar riff, strings (courtesy a vintage Solina String Machine) and, of course, a sax solo. Says Schoos, “It’s an intimate song which mixes delicate flavours of nostalgia with intense sentimental rêverie. I wanted the listener to be immersed in the nocturnal ambiance I was living in while recording.” The track makes its premiere in this post, immerse yourself below.
