The Chills release new single "When the Poor Can Reach the Moon" (watch the video)

Martin Phillipps’ band The Chills made a triumphant return this year with Silver Bullets, their first album in almost 20 years which is also up there with the best things they’ve ever done. The new single from the album is “When the Poor Can Reach the Moon,” a song that’s very much in the “Heavenly Pop Hit” mode. On the album, the song is somewhat hidden as part of the eight-minute “Pyramid” but on its own really shines. For a lot of fans this is the sound of The Chills and you can watch the video, which repurposes the 1956 promotional cartoon “Destination Earth” to good effect, below.

Now if The Chills will just tour.
