The Menzingers

The Scranton-raised (but now Philly-based) melodic punk band The Menzingers are once again celebrating the holidays in their former hometown on December 19 at the Scranton Cultural Center. The all-ages show is an all-Scranton lineup with the great Tigers Jaw, Menzingers co-frontman Greg Barnett’s brother Bob’s band Captain We’re Sinking, Tigers Jaw-related bands Petal and Three Man Cannon, and The Sw!ms. Tickets are on sale now, and “all proceeds for the show with benefit Arts Live, which is a music and arts program, funded by the state for children in grades 2 through 12, as well as other youth music and arts programs.” Flyer below.

The Menzingers are on tour now with the amazing lineup of mewithoutYou, Pianos Become the Teeth and Restorations. The tour lands in NYC on November 27 at Webster Hall. Tickets for that show are still available. Updated dates are listed below.

In related news, Kevin Devine (who just released a split 7″ of Cure covers with Tigers Jaw) filmed a video of himself covering Tigers Jaw’s “Cool.” Watch below (via Punk News). Tigers Jaw, Kevin Devine, and many other cool bands are playing the BV-presented release shows for his split 7″ series in December.

I'm a high liverI'm a slow burnerThanks, Tigers Jaw. This is their song. For some reason my video doesn't like resolving on that C chord. You get the general idea.Cruel world; cool.
