What's going on Saturday? (Miley Cyrus & the Flaming Lips, My Morning Jacket, Tiga, Harm's Way and more)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…
Miley Cyrus + Her Dead Petz, Dan Deacon @ Terminal 5
You think you’ve seen it all, and then Miley Cyrus and the Flaming Lips go and make an album together. It’s more fascinating than good, but fascinating nonetheless. Tonight’s show, which may or may not include a lot of nudity and sex toys, should also be fascinating. Dan Deacon’s antics will only add to this.
My Morning Jacket, Craig Finn @ Beacon Theater
My Morning Jacket returned this year with their very solid seventh album, The Waterfall. They always shine as a live band too, and their four-night run at The Beacon wraps up tonight. Each show has a different great opener, and tonight it’s Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn, who recently released a new solo album.
Der Panther, GGGAMESSS, Vasco Ispirian @ The Gateway
Recently relocated from Madrid to NYC, Der Panther make psychedelic electronic pop and they have an album coming out on Primavera Sound’s label.
Adult Mom, Fern Mayo, Vagabon, Long Neck @ Palisades
Four regulars of the local DIY pop scene come together for this show, and Adult Mom and Vagabon are both playing solo sets tonight.
Tiga, Shaded, Contakt @ Output
Canadian dance musician Tiga is set to release his first album in seven years, which will feature the recently released single “Don’t Break My Heart.” Maybe he’ll drop another new song or two tonight?
Twitching Tongues, Harms Way, Homewrecker, Malice In The Palace @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Brutal Chicago hardcore four-piece Harm’s Way put out their first album for Deathwish this year, Rust, and supported it a few months ago with A389 band Homewrecker. Those two bands are on the road together again, this time opening for Twitching Tongues.
GE Smith, Chad Smith, and Will Lee @ Irving Plaza
There’s plenty of talent on this show, with former Hall & Oates and SNL guitarist GE Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers member Chad Smith, and former Letterman show bassist Will Lee.
Scott Weiland, The Icarus Line, Diesel America @ Wellmont Theatre
Former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland headlines this show, and if you’re going we also think it’s worth catching the Nick Cave-ish band The Icarus Line.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
