You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Steve Earle, Nikki Lane @ City Winery
There’s a lot of the Earle family at City Winery this month. While he’s got some shows with his son, Justin, as well, Steve is on his own tonight. Nikki Lane opens.

Diamond Terrifier, Michael Beharie, Don De Vore, Drooids, Folklords, Weird Mirror @ Trans-Pecos
Diamond Terrifier, the a solo sax/electronic project from Z’s Sam Hillmer, headlines this night of experimental/improvisational music. This is a free show (one drink minimum).

Ask Me Another w/ George Takei @ Bell House
Former Starship Enterprise helmsman and current holder of very powerful Twitter and Facebook accounts, George Takei takes part in this WNYC comedy game show. Sold out.

Aparna Nancherla, Josh Gondelman, Naomi Ekperigin @ Union Hall
This show is called “An Evening of Comedy With Two People Whose Faces Look Weird As One Face.” The two faces in question are Aparna Nancherla and Josh Gondelman, and Naomi Ekperigin rounds out the bill.

Denitia and Sene, StringsNskins, Geek Session @ Brooklyn Bowl
Brooklyn duo Denitia and Sene are one of the many recent bands existing somewhere between indie pop and R&B, and they do it well. They continue to become staples of the local scene, and tonight’s their first show of the new year.

Night Train w/ Wyatt Cenac feat. Kurt Braunohler, Claudia Cogan, Kevin Avery, Hari Kondabolu, Josh Rabinowitz, Erin Jackson @ Littlefield
All aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekly comedy cavalcade! Tonight’s edition is especially stacked with Kurt Braunohler (who used to co-host “Hot Tub” on the same night and stage), Hari Kondabolu and lots lots more.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
