Blonde Redhead working on new material, playing Rough Trade NYC next week

Blonde Redhead just posted that they’re upstate working on new songs, presumably for the followup to 2014’s Barragán. They also announced a hometown show happening in about a week at Rough Trade NYC on February 11. It’s the most intimate NYC show they’ll have played in a while. Maybe we’ll hear some of that new stuff? Tickets go on sale Wednesday (2/3) at noon.

It’s a “School Night” show, and here are some more details:

At Rough Trade, the band will be signing copies of their limited edition “Works in Progress” compilation, benefiting key charities in Japan recovering in the aftermath since the earthquake and tsunami disaster in 2011. The collaborative album features artists such as Interpol, Terry Riley, Ryuichi Sakamoto and more. Blonde Redhead frontwoman, Kazu Makino curated the compilation and is bringing new light to the project in commemoration of 5 years passed.
