Death Index (ft. Merchandise singer) made a video for new song "FUP," touring (dates, watch)

As previously mentioned, the usually-busy Merchandise singer Carson Cox recently formed yet another band, Death Index, who will release their self-titled debut album on February 26 via Deathwish (pre-order). We already posted two songs from it, and now we’ve got the premiere of a third, “FUP.”

In case it wasn’t obvious, “FUP” is short for “fucked up” as the lyrics and drug-fueled music video make very clear. Like the previous two singles, it has Carson’s Morrissey-inspired croon as intact as ever, but this is much heavier music than Merchandise. It’s a dark, distorted song with a trudge-across-the-pit backbeat, and it lasts shorter than your average Ramones song. Check out the video below.

Death Index are also touring in the spring, hitting NYC on April 21 at Cake Shop and May 4 at Saint Vitus. Tickets for those shows will be on sale soon. All dates are listed below.
