After putting it in their new iPhone app, Animal Collective have released “Lying in the Grass” from the upcoming Painting With album. From an effervescent if minimal start, the song builds to a frenetic peak. Have a listen below.

Painting With is out February 19 via Domino. Their tour, which includes two sold-out BrooklynVegan presented NYC shows, starts the same day.
