the Minsky Follies @ Mo Pitkins - Mar 28, 2007 (CRED)

The Post ran a story that didn't actually say that Mo Pitkin's was definitely closing - especially right away. Mo Pitkin's decided to write this defensive response anyway, which - like the Post story - doesn't really say anything definitive either....
Dear Friends of Mo's,Previously
You may have read that Mo's is closing. The Post, as usual, mixed fact and fiction, in Wednesday's piece. We are listening to offers for the building at 34 Avenue A, but will do everything we can to keep the business intact.Mo's has become a cherished performance space in a very short amount of time thanks to you, our talent, and you, our audience. As everyone knows, running a performance space in NYC is a daunting proposition, but we're proud that Mo's has been able to stick to its mission: showcasing great East Village/Lower East Side performers and cultivating the next generation of talent.
We'll continue trying to fulfill that mission -- and our doors remain open, for business as usual. Your House of Satisfaction continues...so come visit, and come often!
Best,
Jesse & Phil

And now it can all be yours....from Craiglist via the Apiary:
This East Village bar is just two avenues from the NYU Dorms in the heart of the East Village is a fully equpped/turn-key operation with Full Liquor Licene. I am exclusively representing the owner of this bar as a real estate professional in Manhattan. This bar is a money maker. The owner has other business that he is involved with and would like to get out of this situation. The place gets packed, and has a history in the area that goes back to the 90's. If you ever wanted a bar, or currently operate bars this is a perfect opportunity to continue your success or start now.Actual listing with pictures here. Should be cheaper than the Knitting Factory.FIXTURE FEE is $300K A price that is negociable! Rent is $15K Per Month

Dita is featured on the cover of this month's PAPER Magazine. More pictures of Dita with Scarlett Johansson can be found here.

HARVEST MOON

Wednesday night (Dec 6, 2006) I ended up at this fancy-like party at the Player's Club on Gramercy Park in Manhattan. It was sponsored by Dewar's who threw the bash in pretend-honor of Repeal Day (the end of prohibition). There were DJ's, a set by the band The Rosewood Thieves (V2), and burlesque hosted by Murray Hill. One of the burlesque dancers was Miss Harvest Moon.
MURRAY HILL

"In 2001, Harvest Moon moved to New York, where she has since been actively making a name for herself in the New York Burlesque scene, performing both solo and with a newly-formed East Coast troupe of Cantankerous Lollies. Miss Moon's emerging solo work has been noted for its elegance and classic form. She blends vintage Burlesque style with a unique and suprising element borrowed from the circus' big-top. Her acts never fail to bring down the house, often featuring hula hoop acts, silouhetted glass-balancing acts performed behind muslin screens, impossible contortions, and other sexy stage acrobatics"NSFW conclusion below....
