Turbo Fruits at Mercury Lounge, 9/13/2012 (more by Tracy Allison)
Turbo Fruits had some guitars stolen in Cincinnati on Thursday (9/27). Keep your eye out for a 1994 American Fender Strat. 40th anniversary model, and a 70's Aria Les Paul with original bigsby and original 70's Gibson case. While that is surely bummer news, it's not stopping the Nashville band from touring. We already knew they'd be here for CMJ but there are now a full set of dates which are listed below.
Also below is a video for "Harley Dollar Bill$" from the band's brand new album, Butter. Check it out along with those tour dates...

As you can see in the tweet above, Grimes got all of her gear stolen at the Manchester show on her European tour last night (8/30). This is unfortunate news for Grimes, who has otherwise been having a pretty great year and is on an extensive world tour right now. Her tour is scheduled to continue at Dublin's Electric Picnic this weekend, and eventually hit NYC for four sold out shows in October. It hasn't been announced if she'll need to cancel any dates because of the theft.
Best of luck to Grimes in recovering her equipment. A list of all remaining dates on her tour is below.

Matt Pike and his Les Paul at SXSW 2012 (more by Greg Cristman)
Matt Pike of High on Fire and Sleep just encountered some pretty terrible news:
Matt Pike's Les Paul guitar has been stolen from storage in a North Bay studio. Please be on the lookout.Best of luck to Matt, and we hope he recovers the guitar.
Details of the guitar:
1992 Les Paul Standard, tobacco burst finish.
Serial number 92462499.
Lace "Pike" signature pickups installed.
The 70's style strap has no strap locks, it's screwed directly to the guitar with fender washers.
The truss rod cover on the headstock is says "Jimmy" in script letters.
The SKB case has "pike" stenciled in 3" white old english letters on the lower left corner.
There is a label on top that says "TEMPEST".
This guitar is legendary and has been used in both High On Fire and Sleep.
If you see this guitar listed on eBay, Craig's List, a web classified forum, pawn shop, etc, please contact us immediately at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: there are many Tobacco burst Les Paul's out there, please contact us if you see this specific one only.

RNDM is the new project of Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur (who played City Winery last night [8/27]), and Seattle scene drummer Richard Stuverud, who was previously in the band Three Fish with Jeff Ament. RNDM will release an album titled Acts on October 30, and you can stream one of its tracks, "Modern Times," over at Rolling Stone.
RNDM will support their new album with a tour this November, which kicks off in Brooklyn on November 2 at Music Hall of Williamsburg and comes back to NYC on November 8 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for both of those shows went on sale today (8/28) at noon.
Speaking of Pearl Jam, they play Philly's Made In America Festival this weekend (9/2).
Speaking of Joseh Artuhur, he recently posted a long twitter update to the case of his van which was seized and auctioned by NYC last week. His story and a list of the equipment that was in the van, along with a list of all RNDM dates, are below.

Bastard Noise at Maryland Deathfest (more by BBG)
Isreal Lawrence of ex-Man Is The Bastard fame is in contact with Akron/Family regarding the logo issue and is writing about it publicly in a MiTB open group on Facebook. Though Akron/Family has thus far chose to not make a public statement, in a note to Lawrence, A/F bassist Miles admits that his band "clearly 'stole'" the logo as well as the Crass circle, but that it was a tribute (which Lawrence admits did occur to him). Lawrence seems to understand, but suggests Akron/Family stop avoiding the issue publicly. Read it all below.
In possibly more important news, The Bastard Noise have shared a split with Actuary, one of a few Pro-Noise releases currently available at their bandcamp. Stream that below and download them for free at their site.

Eric Wood doesn't like Akron/Family too much, judging by his comment that band is "SCAB FUCKING MAGGOTS !" The Man Is The Bastard/Bastard Noise/Charred Remains honcho recently discovered the above shirt design (on sale now) that blatantly takes the MiTB/BN skull logo and adds Crass-style typography. Eric Wood has not taken this lightly, asking his fans to attack the group on their Facebook page. Wood himself has also taken to their Facebook page, though his comments have been deleted/disabled.
O.K. TO ALL OF YOU AMAZING REAL "SKULL SERVANTS" : SOMETHING JUST HAPPENED TO THE AKRON FAMILY group page - COMMENTING HAS BEEN DISABLED SO SOMEONE SAW IT ALL !!! I LOVE YOU ALL ! THANK YOU so very much !!!!Check out screenshots of some of Eric Woods (classic) comments on Akron/Family below. So far Akron Family, who just played 285 Kent, have not officially responded.

Maria Taylor @ Belmont Arts and Music Festival - July 6, 2008 (musicitylights)
Yesterday in San Francisco Maria Taylor's van was broken into. Maria and the band are pretty devastated as the culprits got away with 6 guitars, 2 suitcases, pedals, and plenty of merch. We're hoping some of these items may turn up online or in local San Francisco pawn shops. As you can imagine, this gear has lots of sentimental value as well. If anyone has any information, please have them send a message to info AT saddle-creek DOT com.
Maria has two more shows left with Johnathan Rice and Nik Frietas. They'll be playing with borrowed gear, but the shows will go on!
Fri-Jul-11, Los Angeles, CA, Echoplex
Sat-Jul-12, Sonoma, CA, Gundlach Bundschu Winery
Thanks so much for your support.

Land of Talk @ Maxwell's, Hoboken, NJ - Oct 26, 2007 (CRED)
we were robbed at the Howard Johnson in Clifton N.J.Someone told me Land of Talk's van was broken into before or after their show at Maxwell's the other day. The above quote is Lizzie's unfortunate e-mail confirmation. See Land of Talk on tour, and keep an eye out for their equipment.
they stole my Cherry Red "faded" SG special with crescent moon inlays (pretty rare) and my Gibson Les Paul Studio "wine red" battered and beaten.
they also stole Chris' Bird's Eye Maple Samick SAB 650 with only one bridge pick-up and one volume knob. the Neck pick-up and and all other knobs are missing. His Peavey Milestone Bass (not worth ANY MONEY, but it fuckin worked just fine) was also stolen. it was midnight blue but we stripped most of the paint and the strap lock was a water bottle cap. My current obsession is PJ Harvey's new album White Chalk. You can stream it - along with other new new albums by Bruce Springsteen, Richard Hawley, The Most Serene Republic, and Sharon Jones - over at AOL.
The above picture was taken on September 29th @ The Royal Festival Hall in London. PJ plays NYC and LA next week.

Deerhunter (Bradford) @ Pitchfork Fest 2007 (CRED)
We got a friendly homecoming suprise last night in Atlanta when Lockett and I got robbed at gunpoint after our show at Lenny's last night. We literally had just walked off the stage and I was pretty wasted. Lockett was trying to take care of me and get me home. He grabbed my guitar and my stuff and we walked to his car which was parked about a block away from Lenny's because it was so crowded. I heard a commotion behind us but like I said I was pretty out of it. I just opened the door to the car and collapsed in the passenger seat. Then I heard all this yelling and I hear this loud metallic banging on the window and look up and there is a gun in my face and a guy yelling "get the fuck out the car man" I stumbled out and see the other guy has Lockett with his arms spread on the roof of his car and is patting him down. Lockett was begging them to leave me alone. The guy put his gun up to my temple and said "give me EVERYTHING motherfucker I aint fucking with you" I just mumbled something and he put his hands in my pants and took everything I had. My cellphone, my wallet (empty except for credit / bank cards which kristin immidietly cancelled, and about 450 dollars in cash I had for my rent.) They also got all of Lockett's money. They even took my fucking Camel Ultralights and Orange Bic. All I can say is that I'm glad we are not dead. Or more specifically, I am REALLY glad they didn't hurt Lockett. He was just trying to help me get home and would not have even been there at that time otherwise.Deerhunter's next NYC show is at South Street Seaport. All tour dates below...
