Frankies 457 is a vegan-friendly reasonalby-priced fancyish Italian restaraunt on Court St in Brooklyn. The (vegan) food (that I've had) is awesome. In yesterday's Gawker Stalker I found out the Black Crowes are Frankies fans too...

"Farm Sanctuary, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, today applauded the Chicago City Council for passing a prohibition on selling foie gras within city-limits. The City Council voted overwhelmingly in favor of the humane proposal (introduced by Alderman Joe Moore) and became the first city in America to enact such a measure."

What are some of your favorite places to get vegan food in New York City? And elsewhere?
Nick Zinner: NYC is the easiest place to be vegan—it’s truly awesome. My favorite is Zen Palate in Union Square. Pukk is a newish vegetarian/vegan Thai place on First Avenue and Fifth. Also, the vegan Sicilian frittata at Old Devil Moon on 12th between A and B is great, and the place used to be Lydia Lunch’s bedroom. Kate’s on Fourth and B is probably the best punk rock vegan/vegetarian greasy spoon.
As far as other cities, I’d say Real Food Daily in L.A., McFoster’s in Omaha, Sipz in San Diego, and Pizza Luce in Minneapolis are super yum.

Miss Modernage, blogger: Friends, family, and Ryan Adams's inability to release no less than three albums this calendar year. God bless the man who drinks.
Jason Baron, co-owner, the Dark Room: I am thankful for tasting that last bit of the L.E.S. before it turns into a fake and plastic L.A.
Bloggers Ultragrrrl, KarenPlusOne, Miss Modernage and Jessica Coen join "nightcrawlers" Michael T, Miss Guy, Murray Hill and others to tell Tricia Romano at the Village Voice what they're thankful for this year.

"Composer PHILIP GLASS revealed to me that his favorite movie theater is 'whatever is closest to my house' and his most favored restaurants are the similarly convenient Cremcaffe (65 Second Avenue), Atlas Café (73 Second Avenue), and Madras Café (79 Second Avenue). I guess he's the prisoner of Second Avenue." [Michael Musto]
"I’m a vegetarian! I love Gobo on 6th Avenue, Anjelika Kitchen on 12th Street, and Sanctuary on 2nd Avenue. And you can get great vegan desserts at Atlas Café on 2nd Avenue." [Le Tigre’s Johanna Fateman]
