Arctic Monkeys played first show in 4 years, debuted 5 new songs (setlist)

Arctic Monkeys played their first show in four years at The Observatory North Park in San Diego last night (5/2), which was also the first date of a lengthy 2018 tour. They played over half of AM, plus a handful of earlier cuts, and they debuted five songs off their upcoming album Tranquiltiy Base Hotel & Casino, which comes out next week (5/11) via Domino. They aren’t releasing any singles off the album, so this show (which streamed live) was the first time that the public was able to hear these songs. For two of the new songs, the band were joined on stage by Cameron Avery of Tame Impala. You can watch some (not great sounding) videos of the new songs, and view the whole setlist, below.

Arctic Monkeys continue to gradually expand their tour, having recently added additional LA and San Francisco shows and ACL Fest. They’ll play NYC on May 9 at Brooklyn Steel (sold out), two days before the new album comes out, and again at the larger Forest Hills Stadium on July 24 (also sold out). The day after the Forest Hills show, they play an upstate NY show which is still on sale.
