Aretha Franklin in home hospice care, reports say
Following reports that Aretha Franklin was “gravely ill,” a “source to the family” is now telling CBS that she is at home in hospice care.
Aretha’s nephew Tim told PEOPLE Magazine that while Aretha “is sick,” “we believe she’ll pull through it, she believes she’ll pull through it, and that’s the important thing.”
A vigil to pray for Aretha is planned to happen at the north side of the White House in DC today (8/14) from 2-4 PM. There’s also one planned one for her hometown of Detroit at New Bethel Baptist Church at 5 AM on Wednesday (8/15).
Many have paid tribute to or publicly prayed for Aretha, including Beyonce on stage at her Detroit show with Jay-Z, as well as Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and more.
Beyonce opens her show with Jay-Z at @fordfield with a tribute. “This show is dedicated to Aretha Franklin,” she says. “We love you and thank you.” #OnTheRun2
