UPDATE: livestream is below.

Aretha Franklin‘s funeral will be held Friday (8/31) in Detroit with performances from Stevie Wonder, Ron Isley, Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, Faith Hill and more. While it’s a private service, the Detroit Free Press notes it will be livestreamed via the Associated Press, as well as broadcast on television, with CNN and Fox News airing portions of it. The service begins at 10 AM Eastern.

We lost the Queen of Soul to pancreatic cancer on August 16. She was 76. There is a public viewing today and Wednesday (8/28 & 8/29) at Detroit’s Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

Antibalas are hosting an Aretha Franklin tribute at NYC’s City Winery on September 10, and there is a big tribute happening at Madison Square Garden on November 14, details still TBA.
