Koo-koo ca-cha! Arrested Development is officially coming back for a fifth season, Netflix announced today. Says creator Mitch Hurwitz, “In talks with Netflix we all felt that that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business — and their desperate abuses of power — are really underrepresented on TV these days.” The entire Bluth clan, and other primary cast members, will be back, including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, and Alia Shawkat.

How it will all work with the cast’s busy schedules remains to be seen. Season 4, which was the first for Netflix, used a workaround that had episodes based around single character, which didn’t quite have the manic spirit (and clockwork plotting) of the original three seasons, and left a lot of fans feeling underwhelmed. TV Line has heard that the new season may involve flashbacks featuring different actors playing much younger versions of characters. Now that original series are much more of a thing for Netflix than when Season 4 premiered, hopefully there’s a bit more money in the banana stand this time around. Stay tuned.
