art-punks Cinema Cinema ready 'Man Bites Dog' (listen), playing shows

Brookly art-punk duo Cinema Cinema are set to release their fourth album, Man Bites Dog, on April 28 via Labelship (Vinyl/CD/Digital) in the UK/EU and Dullest Records (Cassette) in the USA. The group made their record with the great Martin Bisi (producer of Swans, Sonic Youth and more) at his BC Studio and the record features Matt Darriau of The Klezmatics on saxophone. Say the band:

Cultivating a relationship with Martin over the last few years, both recording and touring with him, really helped inform the approach on this record. Bisi ran the idea by us of preparing the material just enough, but not too much. Allowing more space for collaborative efforts to be exhausted. We trusted him and approached the project opened to different ideas. It prompted us inviting Darriau to guest and contribute. Each time we’ve gotten to play with Matt over the years it further broadens us musically. He’s a force of nature. We planned to have him guest on one
song, gratefully that multiplied.

Cinema Cinema will play a Brooklyn record release party on May 19 at Cape House with Martin Bisi, Toranavox and more. They’ll also play Queens’ Rockaway Brewing Company on June 2, and Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on June 26 — details on those shows are still TBA. All dates, including NJ, CT and RI, are listed below.
