Legendary Houston hip hop group Geto Boys, who are responsible for the southern rap classic, Grip It! On That Other Level, which paved the path for OutKast, Goodie Mob, UGK, and countless other southern rap acts, and who are also well known for having "Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta" and "Still" prominently featured in Mike Judge's 1999 film, Office Space, have broke up and reunited a few times since forming in 1986. They're currently together with their classic lineup of Scarface, WIllie D, and Bushwick Bill and have announced that they'll play two rare shows in their home state this winter. First, they'll play San Antonio on December 21 at Backstage Live and then Austin on January 26 at Emo's East with Dirty Wormz, Phranchyze, and DJ Charlie. Tickets for the San Antonio show and the Austin show are on sale now.
According to HipHopDX, the two shows are part of the group's burgeoning End of the World Tour, which more dates will be announced for soon. WIllie D asks fans to tweet with the hashtag #GetoBoysInMyCity to request that Geto Boys play in their city. They also mention that since they're only playing a few shows, they will be streaming them live.
