Flying Lotus & Earl Sweatshirt @ SXSW 2013

---
Flying Lotus's label Brainfeeder released teasers for a "4.20" show at The Parish here in Austin. Tickets are on sale today (3/27) at 10AM.

While they haven't released the April line-up, teaser pics shared so far show label head Flying Lotus, as well as Thundercat and Teebs on the bill -- which will likely be a nice start for the North American leg of their tour that kicks off the following day in Houston.
Brainfeeder was just repping hard in Austin during SXSW with a showcase at Empire Automotive that included a set by FlyLo's rap alter ego Captain Murphy, special guest Earl Sweatshirt from Odd Future, Gaslamp Killer, The Underachievers who also played a BrooklynVegan showcase, and more. FlyLo also appeared with Earl at Fader Fort (like he did in LA). Pictures and video from all of it in this post. More, with tour dates below....

Willie Nelson has released a new version of his country song, "Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die," featuring rapper and fellow marijuana enthusiast Snoop Dogg just in time for - what else - April 20.Head to Willie's site to hear the 4/20 collaboration with Snoop. Head over to the Moody Theater to see the new statue and to catch Willie help honor Johnny Cash at a show tonight. Kris Kristofferson, Shelby Lynne, Ronnie Dunn, Sam Beam, Pat Monahan, Buddy Miller, Amy Lee, Lucinda Williams, Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings, Rhett Miller, Andy Grammer, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Brandi Carlile, Matthew McConaughey, Pat Monahan Shelby Lynne & Special Surprise Guests To Be Named are also on the bill, and tickets are still on sale. Also on Friday, Nelson is expected to attend the unveiling of an 8-foot bronze statue of himself in Austin, Texas. The date and "4/20" is a symbol of cannabis subculture and as a day of protest for the legalization of pot use.
The Grammy-winning country star's Austin monument was commissioned by Capital Area Statues Inc., a group of writers, film producers and musicians. One of its founders told the Associated Press that April 20 was picked as the date for the unveiling because Nelson was scheduled to perform in the city that night, not because of the counterculture significance. The event also takes place 10 days before his 79th birthday. [OTRC]
Oh and speaking of Snoop, Coachella 2012 Week 2 is now underway! Snoop plays again Sunday with Dr. Dre.
UPDATE: Around 4pm, Willie arrives on the scene (watch it live):

UPDATE 2: The statue has been unveiled and Willie performed two songs including the new "Roll Me Up" tune live for the crowd.
