Big Freedia at FFF Fest 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)

New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia is doing a short run of shows in Texas to ring in the new year. The shows kick off tonight in Houston at Fitzgerald's (12/28) with Trooth, A Sea Es, and Disco Daddies, and she'll play an actual New Year's eve show in Dallas at Club Dada with Ynfynyt Scroll, yeah def, and Ocelot. And in between those two shows, she'll also hit Austin on Saturday (12/29) at Mohawk with White Walls and Ulovei. Tickets for the Mohawk show are on sale now.

Chaos in Tejas expands again! Multi-day passes are on sale now and single-day passes are on the way, and the schedule (which is updated as more bands sign on) is now available. Bounce artists Big Freedia and Katey Red, both Chaos veterans too, play Empire Automotive on 5/31. Antisect is at Mohawk on 6/2. Best Coast is at Emo's East on 6/3. etc...

Big Freedia @ Fun Fun Fun Fest 6

Big Freedia will be ringing in the new year back in Austin at The Mohawk with Turquoise Jeep. Tickets are still available here for this 12/31 show.

Big Freedia recently played the Mohawk - a Fun Fun Fun Fest afterparty - after bringing Azz Everywhere to the festival proper earlier that day (and became BFFs with Ryan Gosling in the process). Check out more pics from Freedia's Fun Fun set HERE (we missed the Queen Diva's late Mohawk set, but we heard it was packed beyond belief in the inside room where it took place).

Turquoise Jeep also made an even more rare appearance at Fun Fun Fun Fest Fest 2011 (in the comedy tent). We missed that too, but heard rave reviews about the Youtube sensations and so are excited for the chance to not-miss-them 'Smanging it' this time around.
