Title Fight in Brooklyn in 2012 (more by Rebecca Reed)
Title Fight

Fun Fun Fun Fest is just around the corner, set to return to Austin from November 8-10. The bands for FFF Nites were already announced, and now the full schedule for the night shows is out too.

We at BrooklynVegan are proud to be presenting two of the Nites shows. Our first one happens on the Thursday (11/7) at Holy Mountain Inside, headlined by rowdy punks Title Fight, who go on at 1 AM. Right before them at midnight is post-hardcore noisemakers Code Orange Kids. And opening the night will be two local Austin bands: spacey prog-riffers Boyfrndz (11 PM) and the metallic Pushmen (10:15 PM).

Then, on the Saturday (11/9), our metal blog Invisible Oranges is doing one at Hotel Vegas, which doubles as the Austin stop on the Black Tusk / Inter Arma tour. The sludgy Black Tusk headline at 12:45 AM, preceded by the psychedelic black metal of Inter Arma (11:45 PM), Chicago experimental metal band Yakuza (11 PM), and local Austinites Eagle Claw (10:15 PM).

Other Nites shows include Kurt Vile at Mohawk, OBN IIIs/Blind Shake at Red 7, Subhumans/White Lung at Mohawk, Mac DeMarco/Quasi at North Door, Chelsea Light Moving/Lemuria/Merchandise/The Young at Red 7, Pelican/True Widow/Coliseum at Red 7, Del the Funky Homosapien/Flatbush Zombies at The Belmont, The Men at North Door, Cro-Mags/Ceremony at Holy Mountain, Retox/Narrows/Regents/Coliseum at Holy Mountain, Defeater at Holy Mountain, Bonobo (DJ) at The Parish, and more. Check out the full schedule here.

As mentioned, the eighth edition of Fun Fun Fun Fest returns to Auditorium Shores on November 8, 9 and 10. Organizers just revealed the first five artists playing this year: Kathleen Hannah's new group, The Julie Ruin, plus Bonobo, Judge (who just reunited for two shows in NYC), The Walkmen, and Ice-T. A limited number of FUN2 Early Bird discounted tickets are on sale Thursday morning (6/20) at 10 AM Central.

Meanwhile, "Guess the Fest" is back for 2013. Name 20 bands/comedians you think will play FFF and the person with the most right answers will win airline tickets to Austin and Homie Passes for two. The second and third prizes aren't too bad, either. You can enter until July 2 and GtF's website has all the details.
