!!!

Acting as a teaser for their upcoming THR!!!ER tour, the most punctuated band in indie rock (aka !!!) stopped into Hype Hotel on March 16 as part of the SXSW marathon. The show was one a few scheduled for the danceable funk-punk band, who closed out their weekend with that Saturday set after midnight.

If you missed the show, make sure and catch the band when they play Mohawk on May 25 (tickets). More pics and video from Hype Hotel are below.

BV is on the case regarding !!!'s forthcoming LP, THR!!!ER, and corresponding booty-shake-a-thon that will be their 2013 tour. Those dates kick off in April and last into June, and include a stop to hit Austin at Mohawk on May 25, and should be a good way to spend part of Memorial Day weekend. Tickets go on sale on February 15th.

The band also play El Paso on May 26 at The Lowbrow Palace. All tour dates are over at BV.

Shabazz Palaces @ Mohawk - 4/22/2012

The Sub Pop-signed, Digable Planets member Ishmael Butler-led project Shabazz Palaces headlined The Mohawk on 4/22, with !!! (and their guest Sonia 'Saja' Moore - who will also be appearing on their new album that was recently recorded in Austin) & 10YR. Chk Chk Chk @ Barbarella for BV SXSW 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)

!!! (Chk Chk Chk), who we actually hosted at a BrooklynVegan party in Austin last year, will be back this month to play a Saturday night official SXSW showcase followed by a post-SXSW Sunday show at Mohawk on March 18th. Tickets for the Mohawk show are on sale now.

I think they also might be playing something, somewhere during SXSW? Band member Allan Wilson also DJs at Barbarella on Friday, March 16th (another official SXSW event).

Chk Chk Chk also have dates coming up elsewhere around the country too.
