Murder City Devils / Gorilla Biscuits / Failure / Flying Lotus fans
Annual Austin music festival Fun Fun Fun Fest wrapped up on Sunday (11/9) after two other killer days with yet another great batch of bands. This time we got the thankfully-still-reunited Neutral Milk Hotel, loads of awesome sets from veteran punk bands on the Black Stage like Murder City Devils, Rocket from the Crypt, Gorilla Biscuits and Hot Water Music, the trippy and spectacular Flying Lotus, reunited alt-rockers Failure, indie vets Yo La Tengo, quality gangsta rap from Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, the always-intense Deafheaven, indie pop dressed in all black from Dum Dum Girls, the crazy Foxygen, the pulverizing Iron Reagan and still more.

With less than 2 months to go, today Fun Fun Fun Fest release their FFF NITES lineup:
AUSTIN, TX (September 16, 2014) - FUN FUN FUN FEST (FFF Fest) is excited to announce today the lineup for FFF Nites, the after shows free to festival wristband holders, during this year's festival November 7--9, 2014, at Auditorium Shores. The Nites performances--including over one hundred FFF performing artists and a roster of artists playing exclusively during Nites--are only available to FFF Fest wristband holders; no tickets will be sold at the door.If you're on the fence, this might be the final push. More than seventy (74 so far if I counted correctly) of the one-hundred-plus above mentioned artists are exclusive to FFF Nites, and access is FREE with your wristband.

Foxygen will tour this fall around the release of their new 24-track album Foxygen...And Star Power, which drops October 14 via Jagjaguar. They'll play INDEX Festival in Dallas on September 27 and Houston on September 28 at Fitzgerald's with Dub Thompson (who recorded their debut album in a house Foxygen's Jonathan Rado was renting at the time) before coming back to Texas on November 9 for Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin. Tickets for Index Fest, the Houston show, and Fun Fun Fun are available now.

The 3rd annual Index Fest goes down Deep Ellum in Dallas this year from September 26-28. The initial lineup is listed below and includes Local Natives, Future Islands, The Get Up Kids, Foxygen, Russian Circles, How To Dress Well, Joyce Manor, Palms, Dawes, Kaiser Chiefs, Dilated Peoples, Doomtree, The Cool Kids, Lee Fields and the Expressions, Dan Deacon and many more. You can get single-day and 3-day tickets now over at the festival website. Full lineup will be announced on August 4.

Austin City Limits 2012 (more by Tim Griffin)
Every year ACL Music Festival-goers are burdened with choosing between conflicting set times. Luckily, C3 schedules many of the artists playing the festival in clubs around Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio as part of their Official Late Night Shows. Since the festival has been expanded to two weekends, this year's series will have sixty shows (!) from October 3 - 12.
Highlights this year include Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend, Franz Ferdinand, Shugie Otis, Tame Impala, The National, Silversun Pickups, Local Natives, The Black Angels, Widowspeak, Gospel Brunch, Phosphorescent, Foxygen, HAIM, Deap Vally, Wild Nothing, FIDLAR, Toro y Moi, Wavves, Junip, and more.

A presale opportunity will be available to C3Concerts.com E-list subscribers on Thursday, August 22nd from 10 AM CDT to 10 PM CDT. In order to be eligible to receive presale passcodes, individuals must confirm subscription to the C3Concerts E-List by Tuesday, August 20th at 10:59 PM CDT. The public onsale is Friday, August 23rd at 10 AM CDT.
Pitchfork will be returning to Austin for a number of SXSW events, including two at Mohawk and two at 1100 Warehouse (1100 E 5th St.).
They've got a SXSW Interactive Official Showcase on Tuesday (3/12) at Mohawk at 8 PM with John Talabot, Cloud Nothings, Marnie Stern, Hundred Waters, Torres, and more; and a Show No Mercy metal show on Wednesday (3/13) at Mohawk at noon with Skeletonwitch, Trash Talk, Pallbearer, Royal Thunder, Pinkish Black, and more.
Then, they'll throw a free day party at 1100 Warehouse on Thursday (3/14) at noon with Youth Lagoon, Toro y Moi, Foxygen, Delorean, Andy Stott, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Mac DeMarco, White Lung, Parquet Courts, Merchandise, Waxahatchee, Autre Ne Veut, Rhye, and more; and an official showcase that night at the same venue at 8 PM with Rustie, Disclosure, Ryan Hemsworth, Savages, Pissed Jeans, and more.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra @ Mohawk - 2/20/2013
Portland's Unknown Mortal Orchestra are on tour with NYC/LA retro cutups Foxygen and another Portland band,Wampire. Both UMO and Foxygen are supporting new albums out on Jagjaguar. The tour pulled into Austin at Mohawk on February 20 and more pics from the show are below.

As mentioned on BrooklynVegan, Unknown Mortal Orchestra are releasing their new album, II, on February 5 via Jagjaguwar and supporting on a tour with Foxygen (who also have a new album coming) and Wampire. The tour comes through Texas in February for shows in El Paso at Lowbrow Palace on 2/18, San Antonio at The Korova on 2/19, Austin at Mohawk on 2/20, and Houston at Fitzgerald's on 2/21. The they'll return to TX in March to play Club Dada on 3/12 in Dallas and then make their way back to Austin for SXSW.
