BV Day Party @ Hotel Vegan on 3/17/2012

BrooklynVegan's Hotel Vegan, located at Austin venues Hotel Vegas & Volstead Lounge, ended on Saturday, 3/17/2012, on three stages in partnership with Partisan Records and KF Records, and the new Young One Records who helped us put together the hip hop stage which stage headliner Action Bronson cancelled from last minute from (for medical reasons).

The day, and all four days, ended with special last minute addition Okkervil River who played after Deer Tick/Black Lips/Dead Confederate/Los Lobos super group Diamond Rugs who played after Heartless Bastards (who we already posted one set of pictures of). Other previously posted photo sets from this day include Father John Misty, Field Report, Pond and Emily Wells. Here are the rest of the pics.

Like Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, we served complimentary HobNob Wines, and on Friday and Saturday we partied with The Original Moonshine, our official spirit partner.

Special thanks to our official backline providers Vox, Blackstar and Korg, and thank you to ASCAP, and to NadaMoo for supplying free vegan treats, and to Honest Tea for the tea.

More, slightly belated, pictures from all of Saturday, below...

In addition to holding it down four days in a row at the near-by Hotel Vegas, we are proud to be a part of the 2012 edition of the Thrasher/Converse Deathmatch, a five-day event at Scoot Inn that kicks off on Wednesday (3/14) and terminates on Sunday (3/18). As discussed, BrooklynVegan & Power of the Riff will be in charge of the Friday-day show (on 3/16), which will end at 6PM and be followed with the BrooklynVegan/Power of The Riff/Thrasher official SXSW showcase at the same venue an hour later.

Our Friday night show at Scoot Inn is one of two night shows that are part of the mostly-daytime "Deathmatch. The other night show is a Santos Party House event on Saturday that will feature a headlining appearance from "surprise guest" Willie D of The Geto Boys (!). The rest of the lineup for the Deathmatch, including set times, below....

Big K.R.I.T.

Big K.R.I.T.'s official Def Jam debut still doesn't have a release date, but in the meantime he'll be releasing a mixtape, 4evaNaDay, on February 20 and you can grab a track from that, "Boobie Miles," above and stream it below. He's got a few Texas shows scheduled this month, including an Austin one happening on February 24 at Beauty Bar Ballroom. Tickets for that show are on sale now. In other hip hop news, Shabazz Palaces announced a tour that hits Austin on Mohawk on April 22 with special guests. Tickets for that show are on sale now. The show flier and updated dates are below.

Shabazz Palaces' Sub Pop labelmates THEESatisfaction and Spoek Mathambo will be in Austin for SXSW.

For a less weird rap show, you can check out Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Crooked I, Royce Da 5'9 and Joell Ortiz), who will be touring in support of their Shady Records debut, welcome to: Our House (due out 5/15). Their tour hits Beauty Ballroom on March 10. Tickets are on sale now. All dates are listed below.

Slaughterhouse's Shady Records labelmate and collaborator Yelawolf will be at the same venue a bit sooner when he plays Beauty Ballroom on February 17. Tickets are on sale now.

Action Bronson, who would rather be a chef than a rapper will be returning to Austin for SXSW this year. Exact details haven't been announced but this Austin360 article mentions a GQ guide to NYC dining that Bronson participated it where he mentioned he'd be playing Rachael Ray's party at SXSW this year. No need to wait that long to catch him though because, as previously mentioned, he'll be in Austin THIS FRIDAY.

Another SXSW option is Main Attrakionz, whose tour was just announced in full and includes SXSW and 35 Denton. They also just dropped a new track, "Focalin" (prod. by Tyler Bisson), which you can grab above and stream below.

All dates and streams below...
