House of Vans took over The Mohawk for the entirety of SXSW's Music portion, becoming ground zero for shows with Show No Mercy (Pitchfork), True Panther, The Paradigm Agency, Windish, The Onion AV Club, IAMSOUND, Ground Control, and of course the Vans Official showcase. We previously posted a full set of Iggy Pop at Mohawk, but here are photos from across the week, including shots of Ghostface, The Specials, Alt-J, Cold War Kids, Skeletonwitch, Dawes, Austra, METZ and much more. As discussed on BrooklynVegan, 2013 will be our second year of Pedestrian Bridge shows (Narrows played last year)... but this time on BV and Chaos in Tejas will welcome Destruction Unit, Merchandise and Parquet Courts! This FREE, all-ages show kicks off at 2AM tonight, March 14th (technically 3/15 in the AM) on the Pedestrian Bridge (Lamar & Riverside).
The Bridge show is one of eight shows for BrooklynVegan and Invisible Oranges. (Can someone get us an espresso?) Chaos in Tejas is staying busy too.

Pitchfork will be returning to Austin for a number of SXSW events, including two at Mohawk and two at 1100 Warehouse (1100 E 5th St.).
They've got a SXSW Interactive Official Showcase on Tuesday (3/12) at Mohawk at 8 PM with John Talabot, Cloud Nothings, Marnie Stern, Hundred Waters, Torres, and more; and a Show No Mercy metal show on Wednesday (3/13) at Mohawk at noon with Skeletonwitch, Trash Talk, Pallbearer, Royal Thunder, Pinkish Black, and more.
Then, they'll throw a free day party at 1100 Warehouse on Thursday (3/14) at noon with Youth Lagoon, Toro y Moi, Foxygen, Delorean, Andy Stott, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Mac DeMarco, White Lung, Parquet Courts, Merchandise, Waxahatchee, Autre Ne Veut, Rhye, and more; and an official showcase that night at the same venue at 8 PM with Rustie, Disclosure, Ryan Hemsworth, Savages, Pissed Jeans, and more.

VICE is coming to Austin for SXSW and will be taking over 401 E Cesar Chavez for VICELAND, which includes events from March 8-11 during the interactive portion, and from March 12-16 during the music portion. The music events feature a ton of bands like Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson, Baauer (DJ), Parquet Courts, Snoop Lion, Major Lazer, Ghostface, Danny Brown, Divine Fits, Japandroids, Wavves, Austra, Merchandise, and many more. RSVP is open.

Chelsea Light Moving at Sled Island 2012 (more by Zach Pollack)

With Sonic Youth's future looking cloudy these days, Thurston Moore has turned some of his attention to his new group, Chelsea Light Moving . The band haven't played very many shows to date, but will make their Texas debut at the 35 Denton Music Festival which takes place March 7 - 10 in Denton, TX. Four-day wristbands and "fast track" passes are on sale now.
Chelsea Light Moving is one of a few recent additions to Denton 35's 2013 line-up and other just-added artists include Emeralds, Poolside, MC Antwon, White Lung, The Coathangers, Shannon and the Clams, Delicate Steve, Idiot Glee and Fossil Collective. Full list of announced acts is below.

35 Denton have announced the first batch of artists for their annual festival that goes down March 7 - 10, 2013 in Denton, TX. Included are the great Sleep (their first show in TX in over two years), Roky Erickson, Reigning Sound, King Khan and the Shrines, Astronautalis, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Thee Oh Sees, The Soft Moon, Merchandise, Nicky Da B, Brutal Juice, K-Holes, Mac Demarco, OBN III's, Fat Tony, Hunters, Gap Dream, Nu Sensae, Sinkane and Cloudland Canyon. Quite a first round of bands! A limited number of wristbands and 4-day "FAST TRACK" passes (that allows priority line access and VIP perks) are on sale now.

Merchandise in Chicago @ Mousetrap - 4/25/2012 (more by Jimmy Farabi)

Tampa's Merchandise (recent BV favorites) are out on tour, and will be at CMJ later this October from the 17-20. This week they get to Denton, TX on October 2 (tonight), before hitting Red7 on Wednesday the 3rd.
They'll be headlining the inside stage with locals The Young and Thousand Foot Whale Claw. Tickets are available as of this posting.

Chaos in Tejas have announced their impressive first pass of artists for the 2013 edition over at BrooklynVegan, and it includes both an exclusive Final Conflict appearance (1988 lineup!) and an appearance from the legendary Bolt Thrower! Also on board are names like Terveet Kadet (Finland), Integrity, Manilla Road, Abigail (Japan), Merchandise, Kromosom (Australia), Lower, Cruciamentum and others. Passes for the May 30 - June 2 festival go on sale on Oct 8.
