Sailor Jerry, who we were sad to be without in 2013 (they sponsored 'Hotel Vegan' at SXSW 2012), took over the Gypsy Lounge for SXSW 2013 with different parties and free tattoos every day including Thursday, March 14th which looked like this:

Burger Records reissuing King Tuff's 'Was Dead' (stream a track), throwing SXSW kickoff party at Trailer Space Records

Burger Records will be doing its annual SXSW kickoff event again this year on Wednesday, March 14 at Trailer Space Records. The all-day event is a killer mix of garage, slop-pop, space out and other styles found on the cassette-friendly label. The line-up includes Natural Child, Nu Sensae, Tashaki Miyaki, Gap Dream, Audacity and a whole bunch more. Flyer and schedule are below.

Meanwhile, Burger Records is reissuing King Tuff's 2008 album Was Dead. Look for that in April and you can stream a track below. King Tuff will be in Austin for SXSW, and though he's not listed as playing the Burger Records party, there is a "SURPRISE GUEST" slot that could be, you know, anybody. King Tuff's current tour schedule, below.

Thurston Moore's new band Chelsea Light Moving & more 35 Denton line-up additions

With Sonic Youth's future looking cloudy these days, Thurston Moore has turned some of his attention to his new group, Chelsea Light Moving . The band haven't played very many shows to date, but will make their Texas debut at the 35 Denton Music Festival which takes place March 7 - 10 in Denton, TX.  Four-day wristbands and "fast track" passes are on sale now.

Chelsea Light Moving is one of a few recent additions to Denton 35's 2013 line-up and other just-added artists include Emeralds, Poolside, MC Antwon, White Lung, The Coathangers, Shannon and the Clams, Delicate Steve, Idiot Glee and Fossil Collective. Full list of announced acts is below.
