A$AP Rocky @ Fun Fun Fun Fest (more by Tim Griffin)
ASAP Rocky

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are on a tour that was scheduled to hit the Toyota Center in Houston tonight (4/15), but Houston Press reports:

Pop star Rihanna's concert scheduled for tonight at Toyota Center has been postponed due to "illness," according to an announcement Rocks Off recived moments ago from promoter Live Nation.

"Unfortunately, as a result of illness Rihanna is unable to perform this evening at Houston's Toyota Center," the statement said. "Fans are instructed to retain their tickets to this event pending rescheduled show date information."

This must be sudden, because we just got our confirmation for media credentials to cover the show about an hour ago. Interestingly, the statement added that tomorrow's show scheduled for Dallas' American Airlines Center will proceed as planned.

Sky Ferreira at SXSW 2013
Sky Ferreira

Sky Ferriera battled ilness for the bulk of SXSW, losing her voice (and chastity apparently) during the hectic festival. Of the four gigs scheduled, she cancelled one. Ferriera commented on the cancellation:

1. It was one gig.
2. I probably shouldn't have done the 3 before that after I lost my voice the first time...Which happened in the middle of a set. I went to a doctor and was told I'd be fine to sing after blood test & shots in my ass. Turns out that wasn't the case and now the left side of my throat is messed up & I have a ear infection. My voice happens to be in bad condition because I kept singing. (My fault)
3. If I didn't want to play SXSW because I didn't feel like it or whatever...I wouldn't have came at all & canceled 3 weeks ago.
4. I would never pretend to be sick to get out of something. Canceling one show was hard enough.
From most accounts her gig with Pissed Jeans and Savages (who also played a BrooklynVegan party and two NYC shows since SXSW....pics HERE and HERE) at 1100 Warehouse for the Pitchfork show on Friday (3/16) went off without a hitch. Check out more pictures from that show below...

Morrissey @ Bass Concert Hall in Austin, 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)
Morrissey

We were hopeful, but alas...

As the doctor has ordered MORRISSEY to rest for two additional weeks, the upcoming Texas engagements in El Paso (2/12), Austin (2/13), Pharr (2/15), Beaumont (2/16), and Dallas (2/18) will need to be rescheduled. MORRISSEY is currently undergoing treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett's esophagus. These shows are in the process of being rescheduled immediately and all patrons are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as the new dates will be announced shortly. MORRISSEY thanks everyone concerned for their well wishes and looks forward to getting back on the road. The tour will resume as scheduled in Denver at Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre on Feb 21.
Previously: Morrissey cancels more dates, has Barrett's Esophagus.

Morrissey @ Terminal 5 earlier this month (NYC) (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)

Morrissey already postponed a few dates on his current U.S. tour but has now done the same for the tour entirely so he can be bedside for his ailing mother. While there were no Austin stops this time around, it did include three other Texas cities -- El Paso, TX on 11/27, Wichita Falls on 11/28 and Pharr on 11/30. No word on makeup dates -- though they are to be rescheduled -- and we wish Moz's mom a speedy recovery.

The Weeknd in Brooklyn In April (more by Bao Nguyen)
The Weeknd

The Weeknd, who were supposed to play ACL Fest at 5:15 on the Barton Springs Stage today (11/14), have unfortunately had to cancel their performance due to the illness of frontman/main member Abel Tesfaye. DJ Mel will perform in their place. Bummer to hear, but feel better Abel!

The Weeknd did play an ACL "Late Night" aftershow last night (10/13) at Austin Music Hall though. If you were there, how was that?

Fiona Apple in Port Chester (more by David Andrako)
Fiona Apple

Speaking of Texas drug arrests, ACL Live reports:

We regret to announce that the Fiona Apple show originally set to play September 20th, 2012 will not be rescheduled. Ticket refunds are available now through point of purchase.
That sucks!

Fiona Apple is still on tour however (she even played Houston), and we posted some pictures from the show she played in Port Chester, NY last night.

Fiona

As we were saying earlier, Fiona Apple was arrested yesterday for having some hash. ACL Live now reports:

Tonight's Fiona Apple show has been postponed, details for a rescheduled show to come shortly. All tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.
Major bummer! Stay tuned for more info.

That said, at least Fiona is out of jail:

Apple spent the night in the Hudspeth County Jail, and was ordered released this afternoon on $11,000 bond.

Apple was arrested at the same checkpoint where Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and 'J. Edgar' actor Armie Hammer were arrested on similar charges. What does Dean-Walker think of all of the celebrities being arrested in her remote county, which is in the Big Bend between San Antonio and El Paso?

"I think the reason we're catching so many celebrities there is they are going through there with stuff they shouldn't have," she said. [WOAI]
Legalize it!

Beach Boys @ Jones Beach the other night (more by Greg Cristman)
Beach Boys

As you know, Brian Wilson (who recently turned 70) is back with the Beach Boys who are currently touring in reunited form across the world, but Rolling Stone reports that Mike Love is already looking past this and booking shows that don't include Brian...

Love and Johnston have one show booked so far, in South America in October, as first reported by Peru's El Comercio.

Another Beach Boys date was announced for October 6th at Winnie, Texas's Nutty Jerry's, but last night the venue announced the date was canceled. "The group that was scheduled to perform at Nutty Jerry's is not the same lineup as the current 'Beach Boys 50th Anniversary" tour,' the venue said in a statement. "As a result Nutty Jerry's did not feel that we could advertise the show as the 'original' Beach Boys. Nutty Jerry's regrets the misunderstanding and any inconvenience to our loyal customers."

The Beach Boys play PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ tonight (6/27) and have international dates scheduled with Brian through 9/28 in London.

David Lee Roth at MSG earlier this year (more by Chris La Putt)
Van Halen

Van Halen just cancelled a ton of tour dates including a 9/13 Austin show at the Frank Erwin Center that was supposed to go on sale today. However, their previously announced Texas shows which are scheduled to happen much sooner seem to still be happening.

Cockney Rejects at Chaos in Tejas

As discussed on BV, the Pursey-version of Sham 69 have cancelled all of their US dates including their appearance at Chaos in Tejas. In their stead, oi greats Cockney Rejects have taken over the headilining slot at the Beauty Ballroom show on 5/31 with Beltones, Warrior Kids & Omegas. Tickets are still available for that show, and all Chaos shows in various increments (by show, by day, or by the weekend).
