Washed Out @ Mohawk - 5/10/2012
On 5/10/12 it rained and poured, setting the stage for many a band-name-related joke. Washed Out returned to Austin and joined forces with Memoryhouse and opener Dog Bite to entertain a sold-out Mohawk. Lightning, thunder, and torrential rain wasn't enough to dampen the spirits at the 'Hawk. Here are some belated pictures from that show.
Dog Bite made it through their set without weather-related issues; Memoryhouse wasn't so lucky. Lights cut out a few times and there were some (very quickly resolved) power issues during their set-up; as they performed the rains grew stronger, and water started filling portions of the venue like a swimming pool. The crowd took it in stride.
The rain didn't stop for Washed Out, but it let off enough for some drainage and a full performance, much to the pleasure of the now-pruning-up audience.
More pictures of all three bands and the wet audience below.

Devin the Dude @ Mohawk - 12/15/2011
Devin the Dude and the Coughee Brothaz played The Mohawk (with TSOLXCardy from New Braunfels, TX) on Thursday night (12/15). It was cold. It was wet. It rained A LOT. There was some cover to be had, but pretty much all in attendance got soaked (especially at the height of the downpour between the opener and Devin - sideways rain!). Many were self-medicating to alleviate the cold and wet.
My gear and I were soaked; I had to leave - but not before catching Devin and his crew bouncing through the three opening songs. Pictures from the rain-deluge-and-ganja-smoke-cloud enveloped event (and remaining 2011 tour dates) below:
