You may know Matt McAuley and Brain McPeck from their oughts-era art-trash electro group A.R.E. Weapons, but for most of this decade they’ve also had another band, TV Baby. It’s more of a traditional rock/pop sound, in an ’80s kind of way, still with some electronic elements, and grit. Their debut album, Dignity Don’t Dance, is out June 9 via Deus Records and was produced by Gabriel Druzzi (The Rapture).

We’ve got the premiere of “Swamp Beat,” which the band tell us is “a Satanic fantasy piece set to a New Orleans stomp. Is it more beautiful to be damned but able to control the elements or to be blessed but at the mercy of a chaotic universe? Old time rock ‘n roll feelings are used liberally throughout.” You can check that out. and the video for “Klerin Priest,” below.

TV Baby are playing Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on Sunday, May 7 with Ian Svenonius’ ESCAPE-ism  and Chorizo (members OCDPP /Xray Eyeballs/ Roya / Triple Hex/ DOM). Tickets are on sale.
