Australian punks The Scientists announce first-ever U.S. tour

Seminal Australian punks The Scientists — whose sound was an influence on both ’80s NYC punk and ’90s grunge — recently reunited their mid-’80s lineup of Kim Salmon, Tony Thewlis, Boris Sujdovic, and Leanne Cowie. The regrouped band are releasing two 7″ singles via In the Red and they have just announced their first-ever U.S. tour which kicks off September 28 in Portland, OR and hits NYC for two shows at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on October 9 & 10. UPDATE: They’ve added a Jersey City show at WFMU Monty Hall on 10/12 with Bill Nace. UPDATE 2: The Monty Hall show got canceled.  Tickets for the Brooklyn shows are on sale.

All U.S. tour dates are listed, along with a stream of one of those new 7″ singles and a few Scientists classics, below.
