Australia's The Goon Sax prep new LP for Wichita, announce first U.S. tour

Australian trio The Goon Sax, whose debut album, Up to Anything, was one of my favorites of 2016, are putting the finishing touches on their second album which will be their first for Wichita Records. (It will still come out via Chapter Music in Australia and New Zealand.) While you wait, if you haven’t heard Up to Anything, it is super-charming, strummy, heart-on-sleeve indie-pop that recalls The Pastels, The Apartments and The Go-Betweens. (Guitarist Louis Forster is the son of The Go-Betweens’ Robert Forster, by the way.) You can stream that below.

The Goon Sax have also just announced their first North American shows, which will happen in June and currently only include stops in Chicago for Do Division Street Fest, a Brooklyn show at Union Pool on June 6 (tickets), and an L.A. show at The Echo on June 10 (tickets) which is for Part Time Punks.

They’ll be on tour in Europe right before coming to America. All dates are listed below.
