Yesterday, Owen released a cover of The 1975‘s “Me” for Polyvinyl’s Stay Home benefit compilation, and he turned it into a hushed, acoustic emo song that pretty much sounds like his own material. As Stereogum points out, it turns out that newer emo band awakebutstillinbed had a cover of that same song recorded in that same fashion siting in their vault for almost three years, and now — inspired by Owen — they released it!
