Axis: Sova released new LP (listen), on tour with 2 NYC shows this weekend
On previous Axis: Sova releases, Chicagoan Brett Sova was a one-man-band, sometimes recording on his iPhone. For his new album, Motor Earth, (his second for Ty Segall’s God? imprint), Axis: Sova bravely made the leap to both recording as an actual band and mid-fi production. Burning off the haze revealed a still-gritty outlook — part Suicide, T-Rex and Hazel Adkins — but one that let his musicianship shine through. You can stream all of Motor Earth below.
Axis: Sova are currently on tour and will be in NYC this weekend for two shows: Saturday, November 12 at Elvis Guesthouse (tickets) and Sunday, November 13 at Union Pool with RIPS, Bodega and headliners The Hecks (tickets).
