Darryl of Bad Brains opening new art show in Brooklyn

Bad Brains Mind Power

Darryl Jenifer of Bad Brains has a new art show called Mind Power opening at Okayplayer’s Okay Space in Williamsburg (281 N 7th St) on June 8 and running through August 1. In addition to original works on canvas by Darryl Jenifer, the show features works by acclaimed street artist and OBEY Clothing founder Shepard Fairey (who’s also DJing David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption), and Bad Brains photography by Lucian Perkins, John Moushegian, and Craig Wetherby.

Opening night (6/8) goes from 7 to 10 PM. RSVP is required but does not guarantee entry, so show up on some time.

While Bad Brains members have done a handful of live events in recent years, and HR has played solo shows, the first proper Bad Brains set in a while will happen at Chicago’s ridiculously stacked Riot Fest, which expanded its lineup this week. Bad Brains will play alongside Jawbreaker, Cap’n Jazz, At the Drive In, Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, New Order, Paramore, Wu-Tang Clan, Dinosaur Jr, X, GWAR, Buzzcocks, GBH, Cockney Rejects, The Casualties, Fishbone, and many, many more.
