Bad Moves (Spoonboy) releasing debut on Don Giovanni (stream “Shitty Tomorrow”)

Bad Moves

David Combs sure is a busy guy. Last year he retired his Spoonboy project, only to quickly release the first Max Levine Ensemble album since 2008. Then this year he put out the debut album by SOMNIA, his new collaborative project with RVIVR’s Erica Freas. He also directed a Jeff Rosenstock video. Now he’s set to release the self-titled debut EP by Bad Moves, his band with Emma Cleveland (bass), Katie Park (guitar), and Daoud Tyler-Ameen (drums).

It’s a four-song EP that drops on December 2 via Don Giovanni, and we’re premiering lead single “Shitty Tomorrow.” It’s another dose of the kind of sugary indie-punk we usually get from David’s bands, and if you’re wondering if “shitty tomorrow” is a reference to how the future of our country is looking, it is. David tells us:

You know that feeling when you step back and take a look at the state of the world, and it really feels like the people who have power and influence in this country are doing everything they can to make the world a worse place to live in? “Shitty Tomorrow” is the theme song for that feeling.
