Bardo Pond, Galacto and Orchid Spangiafora played Union Pool (pics)

Spacy drone rock vets Bardo Pond have remained active since forming in the early ’90s, sporadically releasing new albums (most recently with 2013’s Peace on Venus) and playing shows. The group touched down in Brooklyn on Friday (11/18) for a one-off show at Union Pool. The night featured friends Orchid Spangiafora, who have been making experimental music since the late ’70s, and they stayed on stage to be part of Gary Panter’s Galacto (here dubbed the Galacto Fidelity Unit) which often features Thurston Moore, but this night did not. Pictures from the whole night are in the gallery above.
