Barsuk Sad

Barsuk artists cover each other on ACLU benefit comp called 'Sad!'

The indie rock charity compilations keep coming. Barsuk Records released one called Sad!, which features previously unreleased tracks by Barsuk artists covering other Barsuk artists.

The comp features David Bazan (covering The Long Winters), Mates of State (covering Death Cab for Cutie), Maps & Atlases (covering Ra Ra Riot), Nada Surf (covering John Vanderslice), Ramona Falls (covering Lakethereof), Say Hi (covering Nada Surf), and The Long Winters (covering Pedro the Lion). You can purchase the comp for $7 or more on Bandcamp, and 100% of proceeds go to the ACLU.

“After the election, our staff felt compelled to speak out in defense of the civil liberties of all Americans,” says Grant McCallum of Barsuk Records. “Helping support the crucial work of the ACLU by releasing these new tracks felt like one way we could make a statement and help, and the artists involved were all excited to donate their work.”
