Battles Juice B Crypts

Battles announce new LP ft. mem of Yes, Shabazz Palaces, Tune-Yards + touring

Experimental math rock greats Battles have announced their fourth album and first in four years, Juice B Crypts, due October 18 via Warp Records (pre-order). It was made by the current core duo of Ian Williams and John Stanier, and guests include Shabazz Palaces, Tune-Yards, Yes vocalist Jon Anderson, Xenia Rubinos, Taipei psychedelic band Prairie WWWW and Sal Principato of ’80s era NYC dance-punk group Liquid Liquid. Sal is on lead single “Titanium 2 Step,” which sounds very inspired by the early ’80s dance-punk that Liquid Liquid helped define, so, needless to say, Sal is a great fit for this one. “We loved making this record in our hometown of New York and cannot be more pleased that Sal from Liquid Liquid is on the track,” said John Stainer. “It could not have been more perfect.” Listen below.

Battles also announced a tour, including a hometown show on December 10 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets for that show go on AmEx presale today (8/7) at noon and the public on-sale starts Friday (8/9) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.
